Out of Africa is more than just a residence, it’s a testament to the family’s unique journey. Taking inspiration from the property’s original classical architecture and seamlessly integrating it with the contemporary refurbishment led by architects Cadence & Co.
Kate’s focus was on creating a luxurious lodge-inspired interior, weaving through the family’s extraordinary collection of cherished heirlooms, art and artifacts. The outcome is a space that not only reflects the property’s heritage but also reflects the essence of the family it belongs to.
Stepping into the entertaining room, the Hamza chair effortlessly takes centre stage, boasting organic rounded arms and a rattan back that adds a distinct aesthetic appeal to the space.
The living and entertaining rooms of the project unfold as a gallery-style showcase. The extensive collection of South African art and objet forms a striking backdrop for the carefully curated selection of furniture.
Tribal Lands
In the living room, the meadow cocktail table plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall harmony, with its rich bronze finish and artfully seamless construction.
The table’s unique design not only serves as a functional centrepiece but also sparks visual intrigue, inviting guests to appreciate the seamless fusion of modern craftsmanship and the timeless allure of the client’s treasured possessions.
